Fiber Post Cards

February 12, 2008

I did some drawings Sunday night on Peltex and they look pretty nice.  Well, at first I tried color pencils to color the drawing, but I wanted more vibrant colors.  Then I tried some oil pastels and they work perfect.  I only did two of these which will be gifts, maybe.  I have three other fiber post cards in the works which I want to include in the Cyber Fyber Exhibition.  Susan Lenz will trade a post card for each person that sends in a post card for the exhibit.  There are so many beautiful choices, it is hard to decide which one you want.  The ones I did are a patchwork of black and white fabrics with a strip of color added.  I call these post cards ecilpse #1, #2, #3.   Well I hope I will be able to make a trade for one of her lovely cards.  I’m not sure now which one to send to the exhibit yet and I still might send one of the drawings on the peltex. I am going to add stitching to the drawn ones to finish those up.  And will most likely add stitching and beads to the others also.

All the information is there on the cyberfyber blog about this international event, scheduled to take place January 8th, 2009 in Columbia, South Carolina, USA.

    Hi!
Thank you so very, very much for helping spread the word about CYBER FYBER and for trading with me. Don’t worry about the pictures. Sometimes it just takes a while to get used to the system. My first blog was with Blogstream where the photo capabilities were quite limited. I just wrote and wrote. It was in the writing that my artwork became more focused and my intentions became part of the art making process. Later, I switched to Blogspot and it took several months before I had a comment, understood how the system worked, had a site meter, knew what the site meter did, figured out how to link anything to my post, etc. It took time…but the writing was always there and always helped me in my work and art. Keep it up.

Also, thanks so much for trading with me! I’m thrilled that you’re going to be part of the CYBER FYBER exhibition!
    Susan
